Reliable and scalable enterprise class storage
Sometimes you need a lot of storage on your local network — whether for backup, archiving or large working files. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) device provides reliable, high-capacity storage that’s accessible to everyone on your network.
Synology and QNAP
We supply, configure and support NAS devices from Synology and QNAP, two of the most respected names in network storage. Both offer a range of devices from compact desktop units with two drives up to rack-mounted servers with twenty-four drives and 10GbE connectivity for high-performance environments.
Our preference is Synology for most installations, though we’re happy to work with QNAP where that’s a better fit.
Common uses
Most of our clients use NAS devices for:
- Backup storage — as a local target for server and PC backups, including Topaz DR
- Large file storage — for businesses with significant amounts of data that needs to stay on the local network rather than in the cloud
- Archive storage — for older files that need to be accessible but don’t require the fastest performance
NAS devices can also run additional network services such as DHCP and DNS if needed, though we typically use them purely for storage.
Scalable and reliable
A good NAS uses multiple drives configured for redundancy, so a single drive failure doesn’t mean data loss. If you outgrow your current capacity, many models support expansion units to add more storage without replacing the whole device.
Supply, installation and support
We don’t just sell the hardware. We configure the NAS properly for your network, set up user access and permissions, and provide ongoing support if you need it. If you have a Trichromic Sapphire MANAGED agreement that includes network equipment, your NAS can be covered under that.
