Two levels of protection
We offer two disaster recovery options depending on your needs and infrastructure:
Topaz DR1 – Local backup Your servers are backed up to local storage at your premises. This protects against hardware failures, software corruption and accidental data loss. If your server fails, we can restore it to new or existing hardware. DR1 is ideal for businesses with slower internet connections where uploading large backups offsite isn’t practical.
Topaz DR2 – Local and offsite backup DR2 includes everything in DR1, plus your backups are automatically replicated to our UK datacentres. This means your data is protected even if your entire office is inaccessible due to fire, flood, theft or any other major incident. With an offsite copy, we can begin recovery without needing access to your premises.
Tested every month
A backup is only useful if it actually works. We perform test restores every month to make sure your backups are valid and that we can recover your systems when needed. Many businesses only discover their backups have failed when they try to use them — with Topaz DR, that won’t happen.
Built on Hornetsecurity
Topaz DR uses Hornetsecurity VM Backup for virtual servers and their physical backup solution for non-virtualised systems. This gives us flexible, reliable backup and recovery options regardless of your server setup.
Included with managed servers
If your servers are covered by a Trichromic Sapphire MANAGED agreement, DR1 is included as standard. DR2 with offsite replication is available as an optional add-on for businesses who want that extra level of protection — and we strongly recommend it.
CloudDESKTOP clients don’t need to worry about any of this — disaster recovery is built into that service at no extra charge.
