All your business applications and files, accessible from anywhere — without the office server room

Not every business wants a server humming away in the corner of the office. CloudDESKTOP gives you all the benefits of a dedicated Windows server environment without the hardware on your premises.

What is CloudDESKTOP?

CloudDESKTOP is a hosted server solution built on Microsoft Hyper-V. Your business applications, files and data live on dedicated servers we own and manage in UK datacentres — but to your team, it feels just like logging into an office computer. Staff can access their familiar desktop, files and software from anywhere with an internet connection.

We use Windows Datacentre licensing, which allows us to create dedicated servers for each task — file storage, user sessions, databases and so on. This means better performance and reliability compared to solutions where everything is crammed onto a single server.

As a Microsoft Partner, we have the expertise to design, deploy and manage Windows-based solutions that work reliably for your business.

Run the software your business depends on

CloudDESKTOP supports the same business applications you’d run on an office server. This includes accounting systems (such as Sage 50 Accounts, QuickBooks Desktop, IRIS Accounts Production and Wolters Kluwer CCH), payroll software (such as Sage Payroll, MoneySoft Payroll and IRIS Earnie IQ), legal case management (such as Insight Legal and LEAP), financial planning tools (such as Intelligent Office by Intelliflo), and Microsoft Office. If it runs on Windows, we can almost certainly host it for you.

clouddesktop redundancy

Built for reliability

We’ve designed CloudDESKTOP with redundancy throughout. Your servers are hosted on our own hardware in a UK datacentre with multiple internet connections and backup systems. If something fails, your business keeps running.

We also replicate your servers to a second, separate datacentre. In a serious incident, we can restore your services without relying on a single location.

clouddesktop security

Backed up and tested

Your data is backed up daily to secure storage, with copies held at both datacentres. We don’t just assume backups work — we test restores regularly to make sure we can recover your systems when it matters.

Security taken seriously

Every CloudDESKTOP environment is isolated from other customers. Even if another business on our platform had a security issue, it couldn’t affect your systems.

Access is protected by two-factor authentication as standard, and we restrict connections to reduce exposure to threats.

Ideal for professional and regulated businesses

CloudDESKTOP is particularly well suited to solicitors, accountants, IFAs and other professional firms who need reliable access to their systems and data, with security and compliance built in. We understand the expectations facing regulated businesses and have designed CloudDESKTOP with those requirements in mind.

Work from anywhere

Your team can connect from the office, from home or on the move. All they need is an internet connection — even a basic home broadband connection works well because Remote Desktop is highly efficient. We have clients with ten people sharing a single office broadband line without issues.

CloudDESKTOP is ideal for hybrid working, multi-site businesses or staff who travel. Multiple offices can share the same system without needing servers at each location.

Straightforward pricing

We charge a fixed monthly fee for the platform plus a per-user fee — that’s it. We don’t surprise you with extra charges for memory, processor cores or storage down the line. If your business needs additional licensed software such as Microsoft SQL Server, we’ll discuss that upfront. Everyone pays the same, and you’ll know exactly what your costs are from the start.

You can add or remove users each month as your needs change, with a one-month minimum term per user. The platform itself is on a 12-month contract, which locks in your pricing for the year. Our fixed-price third-party software upgrade service is also a 12-month commitment.

clouddesktop multisite

Connect from almost any device

Your team can connect to CloudDESKTOP from any device that supports Microsoft Remote Desktop — Windows PCs, Macs, tablets and more. For businesses that want a simple, secure setup, we also offer managed thin clients: compact, low-maintenance devices that we keep updated and protected on your behalf.

If you have an office network, we can manage that too. For a fixed monthly fee, we’ll look after your switches, firewall and other network equipment — so your whole setup is covered, not just your servers.

Printing and scanning

Where possible, we create a secure connection between your office network and CloudDESKTOP, so your team can print directly to your office printers. For more unusual setups, we have solutions to ensure printing and scanning still work seamlessly — just let us know your requirements.

Migration and setup

Moving to CloudDESKTOP is straightforward. We handle the setup and can migrate your existing data and applications from your previous system, provided we have access to what’s needed. There’s a standard setup fee, and migration costs depend on the complexity — we’ll give you a clear quote upfront.

Support included

CloudDESKTOP comes with full support at no additional cost. If something isn’t working, just contact us and we’ll sort it out.

Maintenance included

We keep your servers updated and secure. Microsoft updates are applied and servers are restarted in the early hours of Sunday morning, outside of business hours, so your team isn’t disrupted. Updates and maintenance are included at no additional cost.

If you need third-party software kept up to date, we offer a fixed-price option for that too.

Still want a server in your office?

Some businesses prefer to keep their server on-premise — and we still support that. We can supply, install and manage Windows servers at your location if that’s the better fit. Many clients start with on-premise and move to CloudDESKTOP later, or run a hybrid setup.
